It is very common for our clannies to be excited about getting into the Citadel to get some fast xp on a certain skill.
Before you start collecting resources, please take the time to look at the Citadel Graph Window. To view the window, click on the World Map (while in the citadel). Then click on the "Resources" tab (the Graph icon).
Each available icon has its own line graph depicting how many resources have been collected. Even though I set a resource target, it may not necessarily be correct. The numbers displayed can sometimes be tricky, causing me to set a much higher target number than actually required.
When you examine each resource row, the graph will be divided into 3 colors: Red, Yellow, and Green. I set the targets so that the red part of the graph is filled first, then i set an Upgrades target afterwards. Please understand I make mistakes. Learn to read these graphs for yourself so that we don't become dilapidated.
Red - The amount needed for UPKEEP
Yellow - The amount needed for UPGRADES
Green - SURPLUS
THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND
UPKEEP - This portion is absolutely necessary every build. If this number is not reached, the citadel will become dilapidated, causing our buildings to become temporarily downgraded. It really really sucks when that happens. We must then work twice as hard to get the island back to normal.
If, at any time, you notice a resource graph has become yellow while another graph is red, and all plots are still unlocked, please make use of your judgment and choose a skill which still needs UPKEEP resources, even if you aren't interested in training that skill. Failure to do so may result in clan dilapidation!
UPGRADES - After our UPKEEP targets have been fulfilled, we want to focus on collecting resources required for our next upgrade. These resources must be fulfilled in order for our upgrades to be available in the next build tick. These resources are indicated on the graph in yellow.
If you notice a resource graph has become green while another graph is yellow, and all plots are still unlocked, please make use of your judgment and choose a skill which still needs UPGRADE resources, even if you aren't interested in training that skill. Failure to do so may result in our upgrades taking another week (or longer) to complete.
SURPLUS - These are any resources collected after a certain skill has reached its required UPGRADES resources. They are shown on the graph in green. These are extra resources that will be carried over to the next build tick. The amount carried over depends on the tier of the storage room. The lower the tier, the smaller the percentage of resources can be carried over. ALWAYS select a resource that is not currently showing any green.
Administrators, if you notice a resource has already turned green before it has reached its target goal, and other resources are in need of collecting, please manually lock any skills that already have surplus. This will force other workers to collect resources we still need.
All players remember: Upkeep is the most important part of the job, as we cannot continue working properly while the citadel has dilapidated. Upgrades are the second most important after ALL Upkeep has been collected. Surplus is the least importance, and is only good so long as ALL upgrade resources are fulfilled.
