Greetings and Welcome!
Let me say that we are happy you joined us. Here I will be posting helpful tips for you new, fairly new players or anyone who doesn't know where to look for help.
RuneHQ This is a great place to start. Take the time to look the site over. There is a ton of information on this site and almost everything you need is here. (If by chance you cannot find what you are looking for please feel free to ask another member of our clan for help. We are here to help you grow as a player and as you grow so do we as a clan.) We are stronger as a team than we are standing alone.
TIPIT.com Runescape is another place to get information.
Tip #1. Stay in Taverly/Burthrup area for as long as you can. You can train your fishing, farming, crafting, agility, smith, hunting, thieving, herblore, summoning, cooking, construction, prayer, woodcutting, magic, fletcing and slayer all in the same place. I found this extremely useful when I started out.
Tip #2. Need to make some cash? try thieving at the bread stall and selling the cakes at the GE in Varrock. It doesn't take long to save the cakes up. 1 hour of staying at the bread stall can bring you in a good chunk of change to help you out and you get the experience as well. As a lower level player sometimes cash is hard to come by when you need to upgrade some items or just need something. The GE can be found northwest of Varrock. Be sure that you have spoken to the Grand Exchange Tutor if it is your first time using the GE. You will need to do this to use the GE. Another way to help with cash is by making Arrow Shafts. Logs and Maple Logs are 25 gold each log. Regular logs make 15 shafts and maples make 30. Shafts sell for 6 gold at the GE. So lets say you bought 100 logs ( making 15 shafts per log) it would cost you 2500 gold. 100 logs @ 15 shafts each is 1500 shafts selling them for 6 gold each shaft is about 9k gold with a profit margin of 6500 gold. If you don't want to spend your gold then you can chop trees all day and turn them into shafts AND get the XP from chopping trees.... so it's a 2 for 1 that way. You can build up your shafts and sell them later as they only take up 1 space in your backpack. There is little XP for making shafts ( fletching) but you can make cash from them.
Tip #3. Do your quests! I say this because it opens up a good deal more of fun things to do and the experience points help you level up. It will also help with exploring and getting to know areas.
Tip #4. EXPLORE! Find your LODESTONES and activate them. This will make it much easier for travel rather than having to spend a lot of time walking or running to your next destination. You will also get to know the areas better. The best way to get to the Clan Citadel is to transport to the Port Sarim lodestone then head NNW.
Tip #5. If you are going to explore the WILDERNESS for the first time..... DO NOT take anything with you. This is a place where other players can and sometime will attack you. Here is a link to the guide to wilderness travel. wilderness travel guide
Tip #6. Prayer XP.... BURN your bones. There is more XP in burning then there is in just burying them.
Tip #7. There is a chat called "Portables". Portables are things like ovens and braziers ( portable fire pits ).
